Ever been sued for something you didn’t do?  It’s not only a horrible experience, it’s a very expensive experience.  I spent tens of thousands of dollars in attorney’s fees to defend myself.  In civil suits in the U.S., you don’t get that money back even if the suit is withdrawn or even if you prove you were innocent.  It’s just gone.  As someone once said to me, “Sometimes in life, you get hit by a bus.
